Notes

"Sweet Briar". Pink to buff, lemon-yellow shading, golden-yellow stamens, 1.5" blooms with moderate fragrance. Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Leafy sepals, long sepals buds. Hardy, very vigorous. USDA zone 6b through 9b. Sets hips. The Sweet Briar is a native species well-known to all lovers of plants from the delicious fragrance of its leaves and the beauty of its bright scarlet fruit. It is also one of our best hedge plants.
